Taiyaki NYC

Early this year, I went to Boston, Massachusetts to visit my cousin Rafa. The day we arrived, we went to Seaport and ate at a taiyaki ice cream place called Taiyaki NYC. Mentioned by 21 media groups, it was established in 2016 with five locations in the eastern United States and one in Canada. They serve taiyaki ice cream using high-quality ingredients. A taiyaki waffle is a Japanese cake most commonly shaped like a fish and filled with red bean paste made from azuki beans. The soft-serve ice cream is used to fill the taiyaki cone. At Taiyaki NYC, you can get a taiyaki cone, build your own ice cream, souffle pancakes, and various matcha drinks. The shop was small and cute, and the ice cream was delicious.
We stepped into a colorful room full of Care Bears decors. They had a collaboration with Care Bears from October 25, 2019, to January 1, 2020. On some days, a Care Bear mascot would show up. Every holiday, there is a topping such as bunny ears for Easter or a star for Christmas. It is located in a complex of buildings on Seaport Blvd. There was one counter with stools by the window, where I sat with Rafa as we ate our ice cream. The service was quick and the employees were friendly.
I got the Matcha Better which consists of matcha ice cream, red bean taiyaki cone, strawberry drizzle, matcha powder, and rainbow mochi. Rafa got strawberry ice cream with rainbow mochi. The ice cream is very creamy, the cone is warm and crunchy, and the fresh rainbow mochi is poked on a bamboo stick. Because of the Care Bears theme, there were 3 Care Bear themed taiyaki cones which were Love-A-Lot Bear, Funshine Bear, and Good Luck Bear. The Love-A-Lot Bear contains a red bean taiyaki, strawberry soft serve ice cream, sprinkles, and a heart-shaped marshmallow. The Funshine Bear has a custard taiyaki, vegan mango soft serve ice cream, condensed milk, sprinkles, and sun fondant. The Good Luck Bear is made of a red bean taiyaki, matcha soft serve ice cream, sprinkles, and clover chocolate.
Taiyaki NYC had delicious taiyaki. The place was clean and cutely decorated and the taiyaki ice cream was tasty and sweet. I enjoyed it very much and would love to go back. The cup of ice cream left me feeling content and craving more.

Icicles

Icicles is not your average ice cream shop. It is made in a very unique way: by rolling it!  Rolled ice cream, or Thai rolled ice cream, came to the United States in 2015. Ever since it hit, people have tried it and left wanting more. Every bowl is made in made right in front of your eyes. All you have to do is pick your flavor. Depending on the location, one bowl of ice cream costs $8.25 to $9.25 and it comes with unlimited toppings! Each bowl comes with seven ice cream rolls. Don't worry if it's too big for you because they can split it into two cups and share with a friend or take it home to eat on another day. Originating in San Jose in 2016, are currently thirteen locations in the Bay Area and Alberquerque. There are over 24 ice cream flavors at Icicles including 8 non-dairy flavors.      The last time I went to Icicles was before the coronavirus pandemic. It was packed with people catching up with friends, watching their ice cream be made, o...
